Cage fish farming on Lake Victoria
On The Farm goes to Osinde’s Source of the Nile Fishing Company which sells two to three tonnes of fish each week to find out how exactly cage fish farming on fresh water lakes works.

Uganda’s fish stocks have declined over the years as a result of overfishing and illegal fishing.

Farmers have gone into various forms of aquaculture like raising the fish in ponds and tanks, while others like Robert Osinde use cage farming on large water bodies like lakes.

According to Osinde, he harvests between two to three tones of fish every week, which is exported to countries like Kenya and Rwanda.

On The Farm goes to Osinde’s Source of the Nile Fishing Company to find out how exactly cage fish farming on fresh water lakes works.
