Breast-milk bank to boost health for premature babies
Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5 years after pneumonia

Premature or preterm birth is a condition where a baby is born alive before 37 weeks of pregnancy are completed.

Globally, prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under the age of 5 years after pneumonia.

Nsambya hospital is now making efforts to reduce the stagnant numbers of death due to preterm births by setting up a breastmilk bank.

It is estimated that up to sixty thousand premature babies die annually in Uganda every year.
