Uganda lays strategies to raise her Tourism numbers
However, according to sector players, an improvement in the country’s political atmosphere, wider expenditure on promotion and increased investment in tourism facilities, must form a central role.

The government anticipates that Uganda will receive a quarter a million more tourist arrivals into the country over the next year from the current 1.3m to 1.56m.

This is according to a strategic report shared today at the 8th tourism sector review.

During the 8th Annual Tourism Sector Review, officials said that sector, earnings will also leap from the current $1.37 Billion dollars or approximately 4.5 Trillion to $1.5B (5.4 Trillion) in 2018.

Uganda also hopes to benefit from the 100 dollar Eastafrican visa. Stephen Assimwe the Executive director of the Uganda tourism says that because the Visa application process is online, they have seen growth year on year in terms of people who are accessing the visa.
