Quality products will boost agricultural exports, say experts
A cross section of development partners are urging the government of Uganda to institute major reforms within the agricultural domain

A cross section of development partners are urging the government of Uganda to institute major reforms within the agricultural domain, if the sector deemed so important for the economy, is to support national competitiveness.

Peter Van Der Moude, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy, says that while Uganda has to reshape its focus on agricultural productivity, the issues of sanitary and phitosaniarty elements also need to be addressed.

Van der Moude says the large and profitable European Union market and that of the East African community could easily elude Uganda, in the absence of new pragmatic efforts.
