Ruiru’s ‘bye’ to chairman this weekend

It will be a befitting send-off for club chairman, Fr Wilfred Mwaura, who has been at the helm for the past two years. The lady captain’s prize won by Joseph Wahome with a fine score of 40 points.

Before then, another huge field of 280 played in the Vivo Energy-sponsored Captain’s Prize (Anthony Kamau (Tosh).

Besides Wahome, the other high scorers, such as Ben Kanyi and Joseph Mugo, are expected to put up a strong fight.  Commenting on the game and his tenure, Fr Mwaura said: “It’s been an exciting two years, where we set the stage for several transformative projects such as course irrigation which begins in a few weeks.

“We have significantly expanded our membership, enhanced services and laid out strong structures for the improvement of the game of golf’’.

In Kisumu, the 2018 Prime Bank Visa Golf Card Series kicks off at the Nyanza Golf Club course this weekend.

At Limuru, most of the country’s leading golfers are drawn for the Ladies Open which has attracted a hosts of sponsors including Kaps Limited, Safaricom, Farmers Choice and Sportpesa.
