FDC activist sues police over torture and Kidnap
Zerida Kakayi claims that she was kidnapped by police officers in May last year in Kampala and they tortured her for five days before she dumped over 300km away in Gulu district.

A Forum-Democratic Change youth activist has filed a case in the High Court Civil Division seeking compensation from the government for the torture she claims was meted on her by police officers.

She claims that the operation was led by Nickson Agasirwe, the former commander of the Police Special Operations Division who is now on remand over an unrelated case of kidnap.

Zerida Kakayi claims that she was kidnapped by police officers in May last year in Kampala and they tortured her for five days before she dumped over 300km away in Gulu district.

Kakayi has filed the case through her lawyers of Rwakafuzi and Company Advocates.

However, Police spokesman Emilian Kayima denied knowledge of Kakayi’s case.

He claims that she never reported her case to any police station.Court is yet to fix a date for hearing the case.
