The jobs of over 1600 experienced and trained health workers’ in Uganda are at stake after the agencies funding and implementing the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) revised their funding policy.

Godfrey Bagwa, a Human Resource Officer in the Ministry of Health says the big difference in salary between the contract workers and government workers has been a major hindrance to absorbing them since government cannot match the salaries they have been accustomed to.
