Kenya's electoral body appoints team of six to oversee election re-run
Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has appointed a team of six individuals on a three month contract, to oversee the election.

Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has appointed a team of six individuals on a three month contract, to oversee the election.

The six will immediately take up their role, while those affected will vacate office. The IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati had promised these changes ahead of the fresh presidential election.

The IEBC has also gazetted October 17th as the date for the fresh election, and indicated that the race will be between president Kenyatta and NASA's Raila Odinga.

The notice legally puts to rest the debate of whether other candidates who participated in the August 8th election are entitled to another chance at the ballot.
