Many Ugandans, mostly fans of Emeli Sande's music were thrilled when she first tweeted that she would be flying to Uganda.

The Scottish singer-songwriter, however, is in Uganda ahead of Red Nose Day which will be celebrated on 24th March 2017

Red Nose Day, celebrated every two years, is a fundraising campaign run by British non-profit organisation, Comic Relief, created by film director Richard Curtis in 1988. The purpose of this day was to get celebrities to help raise money and awareness of poverty to save and change lives.

People across the world participate in different fun activities to raise money for under priviledged children across the globe.

Sande is one of many artistes, including Ed Sheeran who have travelled to Africa to raise money to help children who are most in need in Uganda and Liberia respectively.
