Kaweesi murders suspects granted bail
The 3 are part of a group of 5 suspects who are currently on remand in Luzira on terrorism charges, and were part of the group that was taken hostage by gunmen at the Nakawa junction last year, moments after a court released them.

 3 suspects who are accused of assassinating former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi have been granted bail by Nakawa Court Grade one Magistrate Noah Sajjabi.

 

The 3 are part of a group of 5 suspects who are currently on remand in Luzira on terrorism charges and were part of the group that was taken hostage at the Nakawa junction last year, moments after a court released them.

 

The released suspects are; Umar Maganda, Ahmad Shaban Senfuka and Abdul Kaala who have been ordered to pay 2 million shillings cash before temporarily regaining their freedom.

 

They have been also ordered to report to their respective area District Police Commanders every second Friday of the month,  who will, in turn, submit to Court a report regarding their compliance.

 

However, the other two suspects were denied bail after failing to bring substantial sureties.

 

The 5 are charged with belonging or professing to belong to a terrorist organisation- ADF between 2006 and 2017 within various places in Uganda and the DR. Congo.

 

The case has now been  adjuorned to the  23rd/ January/2017  for mention as investigations continue in respect to  all the 15 suspects on charges of murdering the late Kaweesi  , Robbery and Terrorism.
