President Museveni urges MPs to pass sugar bill
MPs have been interacting with different stakeholders with a plan to table a sugar bill, which will regulate prices, which often soar at the behest of sugar barons and cartels.

The trade, tourism and investment committee of Parliament yesterday evening interfaced with president Museveni and one of the sticky issues discussed was the price of sugar.

The president also noted that if need be a law must be enacted for this purpose.

 

During the meeting, the issue of those owed money by the government of South Sudan emerged.

The president revealed plans are underway to pay businessmen who supplied goods to the war-wracked country but modalities of compensation must be worked out
