Public prosecutor has apologised to Dr Stella Nyanzi over case delays - Lawyer
The Chief Magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda gave the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) one month to decide on the trial of the embattled Makerere University researcher

Dr Stella Nyanzi's lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde has revealed that a representative of the director of public prosecution Nelly Asiku has apologised to his client over the continued delays in the hearing of her case.

Ssemakadde was speaking to the media outside Buganda road court, after the Chief Magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda adjourned Stella Nyanzi's case to February 20th, 2017.

In his adjournment, the Chief Magistrate gave the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) one month to decide on the trial of the embattled Makerere University researcher after state attorney Nelly Asiku asked the court to allow them one month to decide on how to proceed with the case.

Dr Nyanzi is accused of using her computer through her Facebook page to make suggestions which were obscene or indecent under the law, against the President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni
