The Executive Director Uganda Wildlife Authority Dr Andrew Sseguya has been grilled by the parliamentary committee about several foreign trips at the expense of the Authority.
Documents tabled by Busia municipality Member of Parliament Geoffrey Macho indicate that between September and December Sseguya spent only 16 days in office.
Members also learnt that on top of the $500 dollars per diem, UWA has been facilitating Sseguya with another $1000 per day whenever he travels abroad.
Sseguya justified the numerous trips and consequent expenditure by saying that he had to travel to promote Uganda's wildlife and tourism potential. Sseguya also said he needed money to facilitate meetings and networking sessions with different parties he interacted with on behalf of UWA while he was on his foreign travels.
