Police boss arrested for aiding land grabbers in Buikwe
According to the Land inquiry commission, Twinamasiko's close relationship with the State Minister for Water Ronald Kibuule has contributed greatly to the suffering of people in Buikwe

The commission of inquiry into land matters has referred the officer in charge of Buikwe police Gaston Twinamasiko to the force’s Professional Standards Unit.

 

He will be investigated for his alleged involvement in the land wrangles in Golomolo - Kigaya in Buikwe district where more than 100 households could be evicted by state minister for water Ronald Kibuule. 

 

Twinamasiko was reported to the Commission by Ssanyu Nasaali, whose husband lost life in the wrangle, saying the police officer was among the people who were terrorising the community to have them evicted leading to her husband Dick Wasswa dying after he was assaulted in police cells.

 

He is also accused of keeping the area LC 1 chairperson in prisons under charges that are not clear.

After about three hours of being grilled, Justice Catherine Bamugemereire referred ACP Twinamasiko to the police Professional Standards unit for further investigations for lying to the commission and missing his authority as a police officer.

 

He was picked and take to PSU in Bukoto for interrogation.

 

In the same sitting, Justice Bamugemereire has issued an arrest warrant for two people including Sergeant William Bonge and Eria Mubiru for failing to appear before the commission.
