Clients of Geminia Insurance Company have a reason to smile after the firm launched a special cover that caters to both motor vehicles and the life of the car owner in the event the insured dies.

The cover, which was launched over the weekend, will now have insurance clients only pay car premiums but in return get life cover benefits at the value of the insured vehicle.

The firm’s managing director, Ben Ndegwa, reckons the one of a kind cover will help improve the rate of insurance uptake in the country.

“This is a motor policy with the extension of a life cover, meaning our clients who take motor vehicle covers will automatically get life covers, at the value of the insured vehicle,” Mr Ndegwa said.

The MD explained that the cover involves compensating kin of an insured in the event he or she dies, if their vehicle was insured with them.

The cover, according to Mr Ndegwa, will not be limited to death related to an accident with the insured vehicle but also other causes including illness.

“There is no other cover like ours in the market and so this is an opportune moment for people to grab the chance which provides a single solution to many problems,” Mr Ndegwa added.

He says the company is considering introducing a cover for terminal illnesses in future.

He was speaking in Nakuru town as the company opened a branch there at the West Side Mall.
