Edinah Kemunto, the woman arrested last month for allegedly stealing a three-week-old twin boy at the national referral hospital, has denied two charges of stealing two babies.

Ms Kemunto was charged with stealing a baby in 2015 at the OTC bus stage in Nairobi town and another one last month at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

CASH BAIL

She was released on a cash bail of Sh600,000 for both charges. 

The cases will be heard on April 3 and 4. 

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi declined an application by the prosecutor to remand her for three days.

However, the magistrate ordered Ms Kemunto to report to Muthaiga Police Station daily until March 6 if she raises the bail by 5pm (today) Friday.
