Bobi Wine charged and remanded to Makindye Military Prison

Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has on Thursday, 16th August been charged on accounts of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. He has been remanded to Makindye Military prison until 23rd August, 2018.
A statement from the office of the Defense Spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire confirmed this information after the Kynadondo East MP appeared before the General Court Martial in Gulu.
The statement further points out that Bobi Wine was arrested after he was found in possession of arms and ammunition, a monopoly of the defense forces.
The findings were due to investigations into acts of violence on Monday 13th August, 2018 in Arua where a vehicle in the president’s convoy was stoned and damaged.

There were claims that an illegal procession in which Bobi Wine was a part of, is responsible for these acts of violence.
Various people including friends and family of Bobi Wine are still demanding the release of the MP. These individuals have been denied access to him.
