Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, swears in and takes his place in Parliament
Robert Kyagulanyi won the Kyadondo East seat by a landslide in a by-election on 29 June.

Robert Kyagulanyi, the new MP for Kyadondo East constituency in Wakiso district has been sworn in and has taken his place as a members of Uganda's 10th Parliament.

Kyagulanyi, a musician-turned-politician more commonly known by his stage name Bobi Wine, was sworn-in as Member of Parliament on Tuesday afternoon and he immediately proceeded to attend his first sitting of parliament.Kyagulanyi's entrance into Parliament caused a bit of a stir as different MPs, both from the ruling NRM party and the opposition, were eager to greet the most recent member of the house. Both sides also made mock gestures, seemingly to entice him to sit on their side of the House.

Kyagulanyi won the Kyadondo East seat by a landslide in a by-election on 29 June. Despite standing as an independent he garnered more votes than his opponents' combined.
