Members of Parliament on Thursday asked officials of the Education and Sports ministry to explain the disparities in the new salary scales, where science teachers will be paid more than teachers of arts and some head teachers.

This as they appeared before Parliament’s Education Committee to present defend the ministry’s budget estimates for the 2018/2019 Financial Year.

Some MPs accused Education ministry officials of doctoring the list of schools to receive funds for renovation.
