Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has cautioned legislators against engaging in the debate on lifting the presidential age limit before the matter is officially tabled the House.

With this counsel, the plan by MPs pushing to lift the presidential age limit to table the matter in Parliament on Thursday now hangs in balance.

The Deputy Speaker also cautioned the MPs that Parliament would not be liable if anything untoward happens to any legislator engaged in the debate.

Meanwhile, some NRM MPs lawmakers have instead called for a debate on who would succeed President Yoweri Museveni as the party chairman and presidential candidate in 2021.
