Nine Ugandan boxers set off for Africa Boxing Championship in Congo-Brazzaville
The week long championship, which also doubles as the qualifier for this year’s world boxing championship, gets underway on Saturday 17 June.

Nine members of the national boxing team will be heading to Congo-Brazzaville ahead of the start of the Africa Boxing Championship in Brazzaville.

The week long championship, which also doubles as the qualifier for this year’s world boxing championship, gets underway on Saturday 17 June.

The national team, popularly known as The Bombers, was flagged off  on Thursday morning at the National Council of Sports headquarters in Lugogo.

However, the participation of one Ugandan boxer however remains in balance because KCCA executive director Jennifer Musisi’s trip to Arua to watch the Uganda Cup final means she could not sign a cheque meant to procure the boxer’s air ticket.
