Religious leaders have asked Ugandans to repent and work for the good of humanity as Christians joined the rest of the world to commemorate Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of the holy Lenten period leading to Easter.

Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali who led the Ash Wednesday service at the Anglican chapel at Parliament urged politicians to be known by their fruits.
