Attorney General asks for a week to scrutinise SGS motor vehicle inspection contract
Most MPs who were debating a report on the contract that was compiled by the Physical Infrastructure Committee called for its termination.

Parliament has, for the second day not concluded debate on the controversial national motor vehicle inspection contract run by Swiss firm SGS.

 

Most MPs who were debating a report on the contract that was compiled by the Physical Infrastructure Committee called for its termination.

But Attorney General William Byaruhanga warned that such drastic action could cost government billions of shillings in compensation if SGS sues. 

He asked for one week to report back to Parliament after studying the contract SGS signed with government.
