Will law curb the murders of innocent people?
The leader of the traditional healers in Uganda Sophia Namutebi who is commonly known as Maama Fiina says the government did not ask for their input on the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Bill 2020 which prescribes the death penalty or life imprisonment for any person involved in this practice. Namutebi is fearful that murderers could hide behind this to accuse traditional healers of killing people. Peter Ssewakiryanga of Kyampisi Childcare ministries hopes the law will bring an end to this practice through which many innocent children have lost their lives.
