EC reassures public of free and fair polls

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission assured the public that the commission is dedicated to organizing free and fair elections as the nation approaches the polls in 2026. Addressing public concerns, he emphasised that ensuring credible elections requires a collective effort, with all stakeholders actively involved.
This statement was made during a high-level dialogue on human rights and elections held today. The dialogue brought together key voices to discuss how Uganda can safeguard rights, build trust, and ensure peaceful elections ahead of the 2026 polls.
