The National Unity Platform presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu who resumed his campaign trail in the Kigezi region after a day’s break, holding rallies in Rukiga and Kabale districts, criticised the government for importing foreign potato products such as crisps, saying the move undermines local farmers in a region known as one of Uganda’s major food baskets particularly when it comes to Irish growth. Kyagulanyi pledged to champion policies that promote value addition and boost exports of locally produced goods to benefit Ugandan farmers. NTV’s David Ijjo, following Kyagulanyi on the campaign trail, reports.
