The Ministry of Public Service has announced the clearance to recruit thousands of new personnel across government ministries, departments, and agencies, supported by a total wage bill of Shs 8.55 trillion in the 2025/2026 financial year, with funding from the UgIFT Programme. The Ministry confirmed more than 6,000 jobs from 130 government agencies in the current fiscal year. The Minister of Public Service, Muruli Mukasa, says the move is aimed at addressing critical staffing gaps across the public sector. The recruitment process, which began in July, will close on December 30th, the final deadline for all entities to seek approval.
