The role of parents in developing literacy skills
As Uganda prepares to commemorate International Literacy Day on September 12th, 2024, we discuss the global theme "Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace" and Uganda’s national theme "Promoting Multilingual Education and Literacy for Cohesion and Socio-Economic Transformation." Charles Draecabo from UNESCO and Hasfa Mago from Book Drive join us to examine the role of multilingual education, the impact of literacy on social cohesion, and the role of parents in developing literacy skills.
