Energy sector Uganda looks to more investment
Uganda’s current generation capacity stands at just over 2,000 megawatts, with plans in place to significantly expand this figure. The government aims to increase the energy capacity to 52,000 MW by 2040, developing hydro, wind, and nuclear energy. Uganda also seeks to maximize its participation in the East African Power Pool (EAPP) to trade electricity with neighboring countries.Rachael Nabisubi had a chat with Mr. Karamagi Joshua , the Executive Director of the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company.
