Teso loses UGX1 billion over poor performance
The Local Government Management of Service Delivery Performance Assessment Results report 2023 has revealed that over one billion shillings have been cut across Teso local governments due to poor performance in service delivery. The prime minister's office conducted the assessment in twelve districts in eastern Uganda. It further reveals that Soroti City, Bukedea District and Butebo District were the worst performers as Kumi Municipality and District performed better. According to the assistant commissioner in charge of monitoring and evaluation from the office of the prime minister Nathan Otutu, Teso sub-region has persistently performed poorly compared to other regions like western Uganda.
