Bunyoro Kingdom joins effort to fight HIV
Officials of the Ministry of Health say they have registered an increase in HIV/AIDS infections among fishing communities in the Albertine region. According to a survey conducted by the ministry, the highest number of HIV infections is among men and children which is attributed to a population surge in the region due to the ongoing oil and gas activities. According to Dr. Betty Nsangi, the programme manager Baylor Uganda a memorandum of understanding with Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom has been signed intended to address HIV/AIDs challenges in the region.
