Electoral Commission and Arua authorities inspect new regional centre construction
The Electoral Commission, led by its Chairperson Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, and Arua City authorities have inspected the ongoing construction works of a regional Electoral Commission center in Arua. The construction is currently being undertaken by National Enterprise Corporation at a cost of Shs 4.7 billion. The construction, which started at the beginning of this year, is supposed to be completed within 12 months, in time for the 2026 elections. So far, 40% has been completed. Byabakama says this will be the first property the EC will own since it came into existence. Similar projects will be replicated in other parts of the country.
