Hoima launches campaign to plant 10,000 trees in schools
Authorities in Hoima City and the National Forestry Authority have launched a campaign to plant more than 10,000 trees in schools. This is intended to restore the degraded environment in the area and also provide shade for school children. Badru Mugabi, the Hoima Resident City Commissioner who presided over the launch at Duhaga Secondary School in Hoima West Division, explains that the campaign targets both government-aided and private schools at all levels. Mugabi says they are implementing a Presidential Order issued in 2015 to plant trees in all schools across the country to help reinstate the damaged environment.
