Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga calls for unity as Kabaka returns home
Monday July 22 2024
On the morning of July 22, 2024, at 12:40 a.m., the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, returned from Namibia, where he had been receiving treatment for the past three months. He had previously traveled to Germany, and his doctors recommended that he continue his treatment at a specialized facility in Namibia.
The Kabaka was welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by a delegation of Buganda officials, including Kingdom Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, the Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, Princess Royal Agnes Nabaloga, Prince Crispin Jjunju Kiweewa, and Princess Victoria Nkinzi.
“Buganda faces enemies and disruptors intent on destroying the kingdom and weakening its institutions. We have been warning about these individuals. We will not rest as we see the Kabaka being undermined by these people. These people have been visiting the Namibian Embassy under the guise of demanding the Kabaka, yet their motives are selfish,” stated Katikkiro Mayiga.
In response to these developments, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has called for unity within the Buganda Kingdom. He expressed concern over individuals who, under the pretense of advocating for the Kabaka, are believed to have ulterior motives aimed at undermining the kingdom.
