Kigezi coffee farmers urged to embrace value addition for profit
Coffee farmers in the Kigezi region have received advice urging them to prioritize value addition to their coffee to meet both local and international market standards. Jimmy Baluku, the General Manager of the Uganda Coffee Development Authority for Southwestern Uganda, highlighted that value addition leads to increased profits. He made these remarks during a visit to Nyabuyungu village in Rukiga district, where 2 million coffee seedlings were distributed to farmers as part of the Kigezi Farmers Transformation Initiative.
