Low voter turnout and concerns over deceased names mar voter register display exercise
It has been eight days since the Electoral Commission began the exercise of displaying the national voters' register, aimed at preparing voters for the 2026 general elections. However, in some areas we visited, voter turnout remains low. Local leaders say that few people are aware of the ongoing exercise and that the current register still includes many deceased former voters. The Electoral Commission has also responded to some of these concerns.
