Museveni urges peaceful wetland evictions amid NEMA failures
President Yoweri Museveni has said that despite the failure by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) to perform its duties, those who have occupied the wetlands should vacate peacefully. He emphasized that individuals can identify wetlands themselves and should not reside there. The president spoke at the 3rd annual Sustainable Development Goals conference in Kampala. President Museveni's statement comes on the heels of NEMA's eviction of hundreds of people from the Lubigi wetland in Kampala and Wakiso districts.
