National Forestry Authority launches monitoring app to fight deforestation
The National Forestry Authority has launched a Spatial Monitoring and Reporting (SMART) application for monitoring forestry activities. James Mununa, the Coordinator of Law Enforcement and Governance at NFA, says the application will help monitor both legal and illegal activities in the forest reserves. It will also be used as a source of geo-referenced photos, which can be presented in courts of law.
