In a coordinated operation involving the police, military, aviation security, and the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, authorities have raided a garage in Entebbe allegedly involved in dealing counterfeit gold.

The ongoing operation has led to the seizure of hundreds of bundles believed to be counterfeit U.S. dollars, along with consignments of fake gold bars and boxes filled with sand, all reportedly intended for export.

The raid was triggered by a tip-off from intelligence regarding a fraudulent scheme linked to one of the gold clients.

The authorities are continuing to investigate the operation, with further details expected to be released soon.
