Two arrested after being filmed attacking a man on Kampala streets

Mr Tomson Mugisha, 40, a resident of Kyebando, was assaulted by unidentified assailants who robbed him of the said money, a bag containing important documents, keys, and a container as other people around went on with their business seemingly unbothered.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police has released a statement regarding an ongoing investigation into a distressing incident captured on CCTV footage. The event, which unfolded on May 22nd, 2024, involved the assault and robbery of a 40-year-old man identified as Mugisha Tomson, a resident of Kyebando.
The assault transpired around Ben Kiwakuka Street at approximately 8 PM, where Mugisha Tomson was reportedly accosted by unidentified assailants. The perpetrators forcibly took 450,000 UGX from him, in addition to a bag containing crucial documents, keys, and a container.
In response to this alarming occurrence, the Central Police Station in Kampala has initiated inquiries into the matter. Thus far, two suspects have been identified and are currently cooperating with the ongoing investigations. Law enforcement authorities are diligently working to track down and apprehend all individuals involved to ensure they face the full extent of the law.
