UN refugee chief urges Uganda to ensure transparency in fund management for future support
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi has urged Ugandan authorities to maintain structured coordination, especially in dealing with donated funds, or risk losing consideration for future funding. Without divulging much, Grandi said donors like the World Bank are ready to provide even more funds for refugee relief, but with assurance of thorough internal coordination, transparency, and accountability. Grandi was speaking during a high-level meeting with ministers and selected heads of government departments and agencies hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister.
