Celebrated presenter, Crystal Newman, has finally quit Sanyu FM after 18 years.

The mother of three had over the years become one of the faces of the Sudhir Ruparelia-owned radio station.

“I have decided to make a change and start a new chapter. I have shared half [of] my life on air with you [fans]. From being a young girl at university to getting married to … fleshing out so many other roles at the same time,” Crystal said Friday in a video posted on her Facebook page.
Crystal has for 18 years graced the airwaves with her distinctive sleek voice that has won admirations from different audiences.

Fans poured out minutes after posting the message, mourning the exit of one of the best voices in Uganda’s radio history.
For now we are unable to tell Crystal’s next journey but we hope to keep you posted.
“It has truly been a privilege and an honour. I have learnt so much from the people I have worked and interacted with. Blessings. And in whatever small way, I pray that I have had a positive impact on your life. I am so excited about what lies ahead...” she said.
Crystal has been a class act in the radio circles only comparable to legendary presenters such as Christine Mawadri, formerly of Capital FM, Roger Mugisha (KFM) and Aisha Albahi (KFM), among others.
In a message posted on the Sanyu FM Facebook, the Crane Chambers-based radio said Crystal has been an extraordinary person who has won “a variety of hats contributing to what Sanyu FM is today”.
“We have seen her grow from a university student who walked through our doors 18 years ago, to becoming one of the most notable voices on radio in Uganda. We have shared in her life every day…” the message said.

Crystal is also a popular event MC, and currently hosts NSSF's friends with Benefits with Capital Radio's Gaetano.
