Government turns to black soldier fly for climate and food security

The government is turning to an unexpected ally in its battle against climate change and food insecurity: the Black Soldier Fly. Through the $354.7 million Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project, the Ministry of Agriculture is championing insect farming as a sustainable frontier. Mr. Otim Onapa, a ministry commissioner, says it aims to transform smallholder farmers into commercial feed producers. Martha Nimusiima reports.
