Lenders want a centralised database
Financial institutions and digital lenders, including telecoms, are urging industry players to create a digital reference database that will aid in decision-making for onward lending. They argue that without a single platform for credit reporting, the current system allows people to borrow and default, leading to significant losses for lenders. This call came during the launch of a new loan product by MTN Uganda and Post Bank in Kampala.
