HORTICULTURE QUALITY: Post-harvest losses edge in at 72%
Post harvest losses within the horticulture value chain is now up to 72% according to sector actors aggravated by unpredictable weather pattern. The low levels of investments in this business, as well as the limitation of extension services is of no help either, undermining the current $36m dollar export trade. Instructors from various agricultural colleges in the country are now being drawn into the horticultural capacity development space, with targets around high value crops.
