Budaka deputy RDC eulogised as strong mobiliser
Juma Nabukalu, the Budaka Deputy Resident District Commissioner, died last evening in a fatal road accident while traveling from Iganga to Jinja. Witnesses say upon reaching Musita Village in Mayuge District along the Jinja-Iganga highway, her driver, Khalid Waiswa, tried to overtake some cars. In the process, they collided head on with a truck that was coming from the opposite side of the road. Nabukalu died on the spot while Waiswa is still admitted at a health centre in Jinja Town, according to police. Mourners thronged Bugembe Blue Primary School for prayers before her burial at the Moslem Cemetery in Jinja City. This accident brings the total number of people who have died along the Jinja-Iganga highway, to 17, in less than two months. Nabukalu was also the chairperson of Busoga Women Leaders' Association and she has been eulogised as a tested, trusted and focused leader. President Museveni dolled out 20 million shillings to help in burial preparations.
