Businesswomen reap from grow loans initiative
The World Bank-funded GROW project is a government-backed initiative in Uganda designed to support women-led businesses by providing affordable loans and business development assistance. This project addresses the persistent lack of capital hindering small business growth, promoting financial inclusion, and empowering women to drive economic development. Beneficiaries across the region are eager to leverage this support to expand their businesses. The government aims for the initiative to stimulate revenue collection, manage debt, and boost the economy, to reach UGX 500 billion by 2040.
