Government secures funding to enhance land information system for improved land management
In 2013, the government secured funds from the International Development Agency at the World Bank to consolidate achievements made in the pilot stages of developing a land information system. This was initiated and implemented through education, certification, and other activities that had earlier been launched to enhance the security of tenure, ownership, and management of land. As our reporter found, it was all intended to uplift the livelihoods of the poor, and vulnerable groups, and promote enterprise development.
