Health PS Dr. Atwine slams absentee health workers
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine, has criticized health workers across the country for their rampant absenteeism, calling it an injustice to the public, who fund their livelihoods. Her remarks came during a tour of Kyegegwa General Hospital, where she was informed that health workers are on duty for an average of only 15 days a month. However, their salaries were recently increased by the president to improve service delivery.
