Kiteezi Landfill Disaster: KCCA ignored warning due to lack of funds
The Deputy Executive Director of the Kampala Capital City Authority, David Luyimbazi, has admitted that his office and that of the Executive Director were last month notified about the looming Kiteezi Landfill Disaster but no action was taken due to lack of funds. According to a letter authored on the 2nd of July this year by KCCA's Director for Public Health to the Authority's top management warned that the mountain of garbage at the Kiteezi landfill could collapse and kill people.
